In the list of things to do over the weekend, an evening of drinks often tops the charts. The colossal hangover the day after notwithstanding, we all love to get our spirits high. But there are certain drinks in the world, which have been labeled too dangerous for consumption by humans. From driving people to craziness, to melting their brains; these borderline illegal and downright absurd drinks are the best kept secrets of the alcohol industry.

The preferred drink of celebritiesfrom Oscar Wilde to Marlyin Mason, it is the ideal drink for you if you like to elevate yourself into a state of trance in just one shot. Originated in Switzerland in the late 18th century, this highly alcoholic beverage was oncebanned in the US and France owing to the alleged harmful effects and violent behavior it was known to induce among its drinkers. Alas, the days when wormwood was used to make the drink are long gone, so there’s no risk of brain-burrowing parasites anymore.
With 35% alcohol content, this German specialty might not seem dangerous. But when mixed with a glass of Red Bull, it can make most rigid of people lose their inhibitions and act crazy. A Jagerbomb, which basically is a shot of Jagermeister, is a mystery drink as no one knows what goes into its making. Legend has it that to make the drink potent, the makers have been adding exotic herbs, deer’s blood and monkey bones to it.
With its alcohol content ranging anywhere between 40-95%, this one makes for one hell of an extremely potent, flammable and badass drink. One shot and you could be in hell, or heading for the emergency room as a case of alcohol poisoning. No wonder, the drink is illegal in most parts of the world and is a difficult one to procure.

5) Bacardi 151
A brand of highly alcoholic rum made by Bacardi Limites, it is named for its alcohol proof level of 151 i.e. 75.5% alcohol by volume (ABV). Beinghighly inflammable in nature, each bottle of Bacardi 151 is equipped with a stainless steel flame arrester crimped onto the neck of the bottle to prevent the rum from igniting.
