No Party Ever Starts Without Clinking Glass And Saying Cheers! Ever Wondered Why?
Whenever a party plan succeeds, the celebration completes with clinking our glasses and saying cheers to it. Beer, vodka, whiskey are the heart and soul of every party; no party is complete without cocktails and mock tails.
We all gather to show that our celebratory mood is mutual, and thus, we enjoy every bit of togetherness. Many reasons are given to explain the reason of clinking glasses, below are few of the reasons for the act.
– It is said that people clink their glasses to show that they are together in this celebration and are enjoying that moment of happiness.
– Another reason says that we have 5 senses, so while drinking one has to use all 5 of them, so that one can fully enjoy the drinking. While drinking one can see it, smell it, touch it, taste it but yes, cannot hear it. So, to completely use the 5 senses one clink the glass and say cheers to hear and believe that they are together. Some people also say that it is the respect to the drink to showcase that all your five senses are active.
– Another theory says that in old times it was easy to make people fool and add poison in their drink, and to ease their fear, the host would pour a drink from a common pitcher to assure the guest that everything is safe. It is also said that the glasses were filled up to the brim, so that while clinking the glasses their alcohols get mixed. When this happens, people drink a sip from their glass to assure that there’s no poison mixed!
– Other theory says that glasses were clinked and people cheered loudly so as to wander of the evil spirits which might have been present there at that very moment.
