National Girl Child Day made another round this year, and we have such women achievers who shattered patriarchal boundaries. These women showed everyone that not even sky is the limit if they are released from social constraints and evils. She is the first woman referee from Tamil Nadu to be selected by FIFA. Financial constraints made her stop playing nation level football but unmoved by the adverse conditions, she turned the situation 180 degrees and become a referee. There was no stopping after that.

She was the first female jawan in the Indian Army. Having two kids didn’t deter her determination to surpass. She was just 35 when while performing physical fitness tests during the training, she defeated all her other male counterparts.

She is the first Indian female wrestler to win a medal (bronze) at the Olympics in the 58kg category. At such a young age, her achievements sing the stories of her immense hard work.
